Roger Higgins has more than 40 years’ experience in the resources industries. He began as an engineering hydrologist, and has worked in environmental, planning, operations and project development roles in the minerals industry. From 2008-2013, he was Senior Vice President Copper for Teck Resources, and prior to that held positions with BHP Billiton over a period of 25 years, in Australia, Chile, Papua New Guinea and USA. He is a graduate of the University of Queensland, the University of Aberdeen, and the University of New South Wales where he completed a PhD in water resources. He attended the Stanford Executive Program in 1997. Roger serves as a non-executive director for two mining companies, and is an Adjunct Professor with the Sustainable Minerals Institute at the University of Queensland.
